Improved Performance of Hybrid PV and Wind Generating System Connected to the Grid Using Finite-Set Model Predictive Control

This article proposes coordinated model predictive control (MPC) techniques for a DC-coupled hybrid microgrid system with solar photovoltaic and wind generated system. To achieve optimum power generation in the microgrid, finite-control-set MPC (FCS-MPC) controls both PV-wind using DC-DC converter controlled rectifier. The mathematical formulation of proposed is described, maximum point tracking employed to guarantee that grid receives power. Furthermore, 3-Փ bidirectional two-level inverter connected between DC-bus AC which by side FCS-MPC controller. used all parts, eliminating use four proportional controllers (PI) giving better dynamic response. Additionally, outcomes are evaluated comparison current techniques. management technique also based on relationship overall demand produced provided WDG PV sources. Due unpredictability sources, several scenarios, including (i) Fixed radiation fixed speed, (ii) Wind speed variation constant radiation, (iii) Changing steady considered validate performance scheme. findings then discussed.
